Meet Matt - a lucky grocer. His fruit stall is outside Vauxhall Station, just a few minutes from the Market, so he can grab some extra sleep each morning.
He's stocking up Spanish nectarines - here in force alongside flat and round peaches (including white), plums and apricots.
Cherries are another bestseller - often Spanish, but there's some early English too.
Ever had a bilberry? They're a first for me, too - dainty little things. Here's some over at Gilgrove, fresh in from Poland.
British gooseberries have arrived, too - one of my favourites.
From further afield, you'll also find white and red currants, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. British field-grown rhubarb is also available.
For other fruit, melons of all sorts are a good bet. Grapes are typically from Morocco or Egypt.
For homegrown veg, runner beans are a highlight, joining broad beans and peas. English asparagus is all but over.
Brassicas such as pointed and Savoy cabbage and kales are on good form.
Tomatoes, marrows, courgettes, spring onions, kohl rabi, banana shallots, chard, beetroot and bunched carrots are also looking good.
English salads are in their prime, although they could do with less wet weather. Don't forget that there's some fantastic English herbs about, such as mint, dill and coriander. Sweetcorn is still French - we need some serious sun before English crops will ripen up.
From the Continent, you may find fennel, Borlotti beans, Coco de Paimpol beans, courgette flowers, stripey aubergines, fresh almonds, artichokes and more.
Wild mushrooms include morels (USA), trompette, chanterelle and mousseron.
For my shopping, I couldn't resist these chilli plants - perfect for adding a kick to your cooking.
See you in August - let's hope a scorching summer will finally be here...
