With all the British flowers of New Covent Garden Flower Market to choose from and the unusual luxury of big budget events, why did Simon Lycett opt for the humble garden pink?
"Pinks say Chelsea Show time to me," says Simon.
"By mid-May when the show starts, they are fantastic. Garden pinks are a very sculptural flower, and – like their much underrated cousin, the carnation - you can create great textural effects when you're using them en masse. They come in wonderful summer shades, in a very gentle colour palette, and they smell beautiful."
"Besides," adds Simon. "They all have such wonderful names, like Widdicombe Fair, Haytor and Doris!"
A Feast of Fragrant Pinks

Lighting the Way
All dressed up in their finest scented British garden pinks, these candlesticks are ready to light up a summer party.
A Cascading Candelabra
Garden pink flowerheads rain down from a candelabra of trailing ivy and jasmine officianalis.
