British Flowers Week launches on Monday 15 June

This year's British Flowers Week takes place between 15-21 June, launching on the very same day that New Covent Garden Flower Market re-opens to the public.

Now in its eighth year, 2020's British Flowers Week event will take on a virtual aspect due to the Covid-19 lockdown. As a highlight of every florist's calendar, we're asking people across the UK to show their support by creating British Flowers Week' windows, in their homes or places of work.

It's easy - just pick a flower from your garden, order some from your local florist or draw one using the templates on our website, then frame them in your window, ideally where they can be seen and appreciated by passers-by. Finally, share a photo of your British Flowers Week' window on social media using #BritishFlowersWeek and tag @MarketFlowers.

You can see a gallery of all the wonderful windows created so far - including the one above - on the British Flowers Week' website here.

Celebrity florist Simon Lycett - pictured above - is just one of many amazing florists taking part in British Flowers Week, with absolutely lots of great things going on. A must visit page is our virtual calendar, packed full of fabulous floristry events, including:

- Celebrity florist Simon Lycett with a beginner's guide to caring and conditioning for British flowers

- Royal Florist Shane Connolly describes how to decorate a beautiful mantel in your home

- The Real Flower Company sharing a virtual tour of their beautiful flower and foliage fields, alongside lots of other exciting virtual content.

The Garden Museum (on the South Bank, which each year has held stunning floral exhibitions to celebrate the week), is currently closed due to Covid-19 but is still involved, working together with the florists who are providing British Flower Week virtual workshops and online activities for people to join in with.
